PhD Position / Assistantship in Social Anthropology (60%)
The successful candidate's appointment should begin on August 1, 2024 (with teaching duties starting on September 16, 2024).
The position is limited to 1 year with the option of a 3-year extension after a successful evaluation.
- Collaborate on research projects, and contribute to publications
- Actively participate in the scholarly community of the Institute Social Anthropology, including the weekly colloquium and other events
- At different times, you will help advance the Institute's public engagement initiative, by assisting in the production of either our podcast, periodical, or field school
- Teach two hours per week during the semester at the BA level
- Be able to teach "Anthropology of Religion"; "Methods," and other courses related to ritual, religion, and sexuality
- Mentor BA students with their proseminar papers
- Help with a limited number of administrative tasks, as needed
- At least one previous degree must be in socio-cultural anthropology
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Ability to teach in German strongly preferred
